The Basics

What is The Kindest Post?

The Kindest Post is a monthly snail mail subscription built around Linden Falls, a fictional lake town in Wisconsin set in the summer of 1996. Each issue delivers a chapter of an original serialized story following four teenage girls, along with handmade art, a curated playlist, a recipe, a journal prompt, a coloring page, and a sticker. Everything is assembled by hand and sent with a stamp.

Who is this for?

The Kindest Post is for anyone who grew up in the 90s and wants to slow down, feel something, and find something worth opening in their mailbox. If you love serialized fiction, handmade art, and the specific magic of 1996, you're in the right place.

Do I need to read every issue in order?

Each issue is written to stand on its own, so you can jump in at any time and enjoy it completely. That said the story does connect across issues, so reading from Issue 001 gives you the fullest experience of Linden Falls and its characters.

Subscription

How much does a subscription cost?

A monthly subscription is $10 per month with shipping included. There are no additional charges at checkout.

When will I be charged?

You are charged on the date of your original purchase and then on that same date each month going forward.

Can I buy a single issue instead of subscribing?

Yes. Issue 001 — July 1996 is available as a one-time purchase for $10 with shipping included. If you love it, subscribing from Issue 002 onward is easy to do from your account or by contacting us.

How do I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel anytime with no notice required. Log into your account at thekindestpost.com to manage your subscription, or email us at hello@thekindestpost.com and we will cancel it for you right away. You will not be charged for any future billing cycles after cancellation.

Can I pause my subscription instead of cancelling?

We don't currently offer a pause option, but if you need to skip a month just reach out at hello@thekindestpost.com before the 1st of the month and we will work something out.

Shipping

When does my issue ship?

Every issue ships by the 5th of the month. You will receive a shipping confirmation email when yours is on its way. New subscribers receive the current month's issue regardless of when they sign up. If you subscribe after the 5th your issue will be sent in a separate mailing.

Will I get a tracking number?

No. We send all issues via USPS stamped mail without tracking. You will receive a shipping confirmation email when your issue ships. Most issues arrive within 7 to 10 business days of that email.

Do you ship internationally?

Not yet. We currently ship to US addresses only. We hope to offer international shipping in the future and will announce it when it becomes available.

How do I update my shipping address?

Please contact us at hello@thekindestpost.com before the 1st of the month and we will update your address before your issue ships. We cannot redirect issues that have already been sent.

Issues and Refunds

My issue hasn't arrived. What do I do?

If your issue hasn't arrived within 14 days of your shipping confirmation email please reach out at hello@thekindestpost.com and we will make it right.

My issue arrived damaged. What do I do?

We're so sorry. Please email us at hello@thekindestpost.com with a photo if possible and we will send a replacement.

Can I get a refund?

If you cancel your subscription before your current issue has shipped you are eligible for a full refund of that month's charge. Once an issue has shipped that charge is non-refundable. Single issue purchases are final sale once shipped.
